Image compressor & resizer

Shrink photos for the web, email or social media — compress, resize and convert to WebP in your browser. Your images never leave your device.

How to use it

  1. Drop one or more images, or click to choose them.
  2. Pick the output format and quality. WebP at 75–85% usually gives the best size-to-quality ratio.
  3. Optionally set a maximum width or height — the image is scaled down proportionally, never stretched.

Why compress images?

Images are usually the heaviest part of a web page. Smaller files load faster, rank better in search and use less of your visitors' mobile data. A phone photo of 4–5 MB can often go below 300 KB with no visible difference at normal viewing sizes.

Private by design

Everything happens on your device using your browser's built-in image engine. Nothing is uploaded to a server, so it's safe for personal photos and documents.

Frequently asked questions

Which format should I pick?

WebP for websites (smallest files, supported by all modern browsers), JPG for maximum compatibility, PNG when you need transparency or crisp graphics.

Why did my PNG get bigger?

PNG is lossless, so the quality slider doesn't apply. Convert to WebP or JPG for much smaller files.

Is there a file limit?

No fixed limit — it depends on your device's memory. Very large images may take a few seconds.
