How it works

  1. List everyone, one name per line.
  2. Add each expense, who paid, and who shares it (not everyone has to — the fuel can be split only by those in the car).
  3. See each person's balance and the list of payments that settle everything.

Fewest payments

Instead of everyone paying everyone, the tool matches the people who owe the most with those who are owed the most. Five friends usually settle in four payments or fewer.

Fair to the cent

Amounts are calculated in cents. When a bill doesn't divide evenly, the leftover cents are spread so the totals always match exactly.

Frequently asked questions

Can different people share different expenses?

Yes. For each expense, tick only the people who should share it.

Can I split unevenly, like 60/40?

Not directly. A workaround is to split the expense into two items with the right amounts.
