How the conversion works
A year has 52 weeks, so a full-time 40-hour job has 2,080 paid hours. $25 an hour is therefore $52,000 a year, $1,000 a week and about $4,333 a month (52 ÷ 12 = 4.33 weeks per month).
- Biweekly means every two weeks: 26 paychecks a year.
- Semimonthly means twice a month: 24 paychecks a year, each slightly larger than a biweekly one.
Extra salaries
In many countries employees receive more than 12 monthly salaries a year — a 13th salary in Brazil and the Philippines, an aguinaldo in Argentina, or 14 payments in Spain. Choose the number and the yearly total updates, while the monthly and hourly figures stay based on the regular salary.
Frequently asked questions
Does it include taxes?
No — all figures are gross. Take-home pay depends on your tax situation, location and benefits.
What about unpaid time off?
The calculator assumes 52 paid weeks. If you take unpaid weeks, use fewer hours per week or reduce the yearly amount accordingly.
Is a $60,000 salary the same as $28.85 an hour?
Yes, at 40 hours a week: 60,000 ÷ 2,080 = 28.85.
